Exhibition Opening Night

ChimaeraExhibition1Friday night saw the launch of Folkestone photographer Mat Mackenzie’s exciting new exhibition ‘A Selective Retrospective’ at Chimaera Gallery in Folkestone. The exhibition is a collection of Mat’s favourite photographs from the past three years, comprising beautiful landscapes, seascapes and studies of nature, both from the Folkestone area itself and further afield.

The launch party saw Chimaera Gallery tightly packed with friends, associates, and lovers of photographic art from far and wide. Attending the event were Folkestone Mayor Tom McNeice and his wife Kate, along with Shepway Councillor Susan Wallace.

OpeningNight1Mayor McNeice addressed the party in exuberant style, commenting on the wonderful atmosphere of the evening, the high standard of photography and the benefits to Folkestone’s Creative Quarter.

Responding with thanks to this address, Mat Mackenzie said “I’m very touched that so many people have taken the time to come along this evening, and for the enthusiasm and support you have shown for my photography. I’ve had a fantastic time tonight, and am hugely grateful to the team at Chimaera for their excellent organisation. I’m now looking forward to future exhibitions, as well as working with any of you requiring the services of a professional photographer.”

The exhibition runs until May 5th. For more information and gallery opening times, contact Chimaera on 01303 211621.
